Sagging
& Volume Loss.

Skin laxity and lost facial volume are addressed through different mechanisms. Our doctors typically combine lifting protocols (focused ultrasound, RF microneedling) with volume restoration (collagen stimulators, bio-remodellers) based on what your face actually needs.

Clinical overview

Lifting and volume are different problems.

Facial ageing involves three layered changes: skin laxity (loss of dermal collagen and elasticity), volume loss (atrophy of fat pads and bony resorption), and ligamentous descent. Treating only one without addressing the others tends to produce uneven or unnatural-looking outcomes.

Lifting treatments (HIFU, RF microneedling) work by inducing controlled thermal injury at specific depths, stimulating collagen remodelling. Volumisers (collagen biostimulators, bio-remodellers) work by replenishing or stimulating the structural support that's been lost.

Your doctor will assess which of these mechanisms is the dominant driver of your concern and structure treatment accordingly. Combination protocols are common.

Treatment options

Treatments most often used.

Focused-Ultrasound Lifting (Ultraformer MPT®)
High-intensity focused ultrasound targets the SMAS (superficial musculoaponeurotic system) for a true non-surgical lifting effect.

Fractional RF Microneedling (Morpheus 8®)
Deeper RF energy delivered via microneedles, remodelling skin and underlying tissue at multiple depths for sustained tightening.

Collagen-Stimulating Injection (Sculptra®)
Poly-L-lactic acid stimulates the skin's own collagen production over months — gradual, structural volume restoration.

Bio-Remodelling Injection (Profhilo®)
Hyaluronic acid bio-remodeller that stimulates collagen and elastin — improves skin laxity without adding volume.

Frequently asked

Common questions.

Is non-surgical lifting as effective as a facelift?
No — and we don't claim equivalence. Surgical facelifts deliver more dramatic and longer-lasting lift, particularly for advanced laxity. Non-surgical lifting is most effective for mild to moderate laxity in patients who aren't candidates for or don't want surgery. Your doctor will discuss what realistic improvement looks like for your skin specifically.
What's the difference between lifting and volume restoration?
They address different mechanisms. Sagging is loss of structural support — addressed by lifting treatments that tighten skin and underlying tissue. Volume loss is loss of fat pads and bone — addressed by injectable volumisers like collagen-stimulating injections that gradually rebuild structure. Most patients with advanced ageing benefit from both.
How long do results last?
Focused-ultrasound lifting typically produces visible tightening for 12 to 18 months. Collagen-stimulating injections can deliver results for 18 to 24 months. Bio-remodellers like Profhilo are typically repeated every 6 months. Maintenance protocols extend results.
Is there downtime?
Focused-ultrasound has essentially no downtime. RF microneedling involves 2 to 4 days of social downtime. Collagen-stimulating injections have minimal downtime — possible bruising or swelling at injection points for 1 to 2 days.
