What is polynucleotide skin rejuvenation?

Polynucleotide skin rejuvenation is an injectable treatment containing Polynucleotides (PN) — long chains of DNA fragments derived from salmon. These molecules are highly biocompatible with human skin and have been shown to stimulate fibroblast activity, promote collagen synthesis, and accelerate skin cell repair and regeneration.

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers that add volume, or neurotoxin that relaxes muscles, polynucleotide skin rejuvenation works at the cellular level — improving the skin's intrinsic ability to repair and renew itself.

At IVI, this treatment is delivered using Rejuran® Healer, a Korean polynucleotide product administered by an MOH-licensed doctor after a clinical assessment.

About this product. Rejuran® is a Prescription-Only Medicine in Singapore. It is administered only after a face-to-face consultation with a registered doctor who has assessed your suitability. The information on this page is intended for patient education and is not an offer to supply the product.

What does it treat?

  • Fine lines and early wrinkles
  • Dull, lacklustre skin
  • Acne scars and acne-prone skin
  • Thin, crepe-like skin texture
  • Enlarged pores
  • Dry, dehydrated skin
  • Skin around the eyes (a finer-particle PN variant is available)

Results

Patients typically notice initial improvement in hydration and a natural glow within 2 weeks. Full results develop over 4–8 weeks as collagen remodelling takes effect. Most patients do 3 sessions for optimal results, then maintain with 1 session every 6 months.

Is this the same as PDRN? +
They are related but distinct. PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) refers to shorter DNA fragment chains, while PN (polynucleotide) used in many modern products refers to longer chains. Both are derived from salmon DNA and share regenerative properties; suitability is assessed by your doctor.
How many sessions do I need? +
We recommend 3 sessions spaced 3–4 weeks apart for the initial course, followed by maintenance sessions every 6 months.
Can it be combined with other treatments? +
Yes — polynucleotide skin rejuvenation is commonly combined with bio-remodelling injection, neurotoxin injection, pigmentation laser, and RF microneedling. Suitability and combination is assessed by your doctor.
