The thulium 1927nm laser uses a 1927nm thulium wavelength that is selectively absorbed by water in skin cells. This makes it highly effective for superficial skin concerns — it targets the epidermis and superficial dermis to remove damaged skin cells and stimulate fresh cell turnover, without the recovery time of more aggressive ablative lasers.
Results are typically visible within 1–2 weeks as the skin renews itself. A series of 3–5 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart is recommended for optimal improvement. This treatment is often combined with picosecond laser for a more comprehensive pigmentation and resurfacing protocol.
